Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

The California Judicial Council has established Rules of Court 1.100, requests for accommodations by persons with disabilities.  A request and order for accommodations by persons with disabilities should be submitted at least five court days prior to the implementation date.  The Court may waive this time requirement. Forms are available at each public assistance window.

Policy

The Superior Court, County of Yolo is to assure that qualified individuals with disabilities have equal and full access to the judicial system.  The court does not discriminate on the admission and access to its services, programs, activities, and employment.  This policy applies equally to employees and members of the general public services.

The Superior Court, County of Yolo is committed to ensuring a non-discriminatory work and public service environment where all individuals are valued.  All employees and persons engaged in business with the Courts have an ongoing responsibility to create a non-discriminatory environment through their personal conduct and provision of accommodations where appropriate.

Responsibility

All Superior Court employees are responsible for providing a non-discriminatory environment, to ensure the Court does not discriminate on the admission and access to its services, programs, and activities.

Process For Requesting Accommodations

Applicants may request an accommodation in writing, by telephone, or in person at the Superior Court, Court Services Division.  Requests for accommodation should include a description of the accommodation sought, along with a statement of the impairment that necessitates such accommodation.  The court, in its discretion, may require the applicant to provide additional information about the qualifying impairment.

The applicant shall be informed that a request for accommodations is granted or denied, in whole or in part, and the nature of the accommodations(s) to be provided if any. (Download Form)

Review Procedure

An applicant or any participant in the proceeding in which accommodation has been denied or granted may seek review of a determination made by non-judicial court personnel within 10 days of the date of the notice of denial or grant by submitting a request for review to the judicial officer who will preside over the proceeding or to the presiding judge if the matter has not been assigned.

Parking is available in accordance with DMV rules and regulations located here. Parking is not permitted in spaces marked for law enforcement use.
